Pink, grey, and blue.

I'm gonna keep this post short and sweet tonight because I'm exhausted. I spent 9 hours today working on a group project due tomorrow and then another hour tutoring MBA students. (I taught them how to balance). Pretty much my Thursday night "networking" at the bar cannot come soon enough.

In outfit-related news, I really liked all the springy colors in this outfit! And I seriously have an addition to buying these square scarves at Savers (it was windy so the first picture is the only one were it's laying correctly). See also here, here and here; and there's at least 7 or 8 more that haven't debuted on the blog yet. I'm sure there's a limit to how many a person should own, but when they're only a dollar or two it's pretty hard to resist.

And I said this would be short so I'm stopping now. My bed is definitely calling my name.

Wait for it...

Express dress; Thrifted belt; Target shoes.

This is what I eventually settled on for the March of Dimes dinner I went to on Thursday night. (Thanks for the suggestions!) I can't get enough of black and brown together, although I'm always disappointed in how black doesn't photograph very well. Oh well, I ended up being the perfect amount of dressed up for the event, even though I saw a lot of polo shirts too that night...that's New Mexico for you though.

Anyway, back to school today. And only six weeks until graduation, which is both exciting and terrifying. Because then it's 5 months of studying and taking the CPA exam, (and not doing much else) and then it'll be time to move, start working, and be like a grown up or something.

Okay so I'm a little freaked out now, but have a Happy Monday anyway!

And now for something completely different

In an attempt to post a little more frequently (I'd like to get back up to 3-4x a week), I've been thinking about doing something that isn't an outfit post once a week or every two weeks.

I'd love to have your input on it though, and know what else do you guys like to see other than regular outfit posts? Posts about hair? makeup? diys? grad school/how to get a job? music? food? (I don't cook but I can advise on which wines go with which days of the week) thrifting? pictures of my cat? married life? (I can't help you with that one).

For example, personally I love stuff about hair, diys, and thrifting, but tend to skim over the music posts and parenting advice.

So tell me what you think!

Here's something funny to look at while you think about that:

And no, we didn't plan it, we just happened to show up to our honor society meeting wearing the EXACT SAME outfit. And then went to the bar afterward like that too. It was awesome.

Spring Break! And help!

Pacsun tank; American Eagle jeans; Thrifted shoes and bag.

My outfits this week have all been some variation of this one. It's also been pretty windy lately, so this one is the only one that I've bothered to take pictures of.

Anyway, I'm going to this 'celebrity waiter' dinner for the March of Dimes tonight and I have no idea what to wear! It's in like an hour. Any suggestions? Unless you're really quick, it'll probably be too late and I'll have just picked the least wrinkled thing in my closet.

I should also point out that I live in New Mexico and people around here wear polo shirts when it's time to get dressed up. Plus my ball gown is at the cleaners anyway.

Update: Found the perfect LBD sitting in the back of my closet, and it wasn't even wrinkled.

Ann Taylor dress (thrifted); Target tights; Kohl's boots; Thrifted scarf (worn as a belt).

This is me finally getting creative with my scarves. Aren't you guys proud?

As much as I'd like to be writing this post from a beach, or somewhere exotic, I'm actually doing it from my apartment....in my pajamas.

It's okay though, I've really been enjoying staying home and doing productive things this weekend like cuddling with my cat and playing Angry Birds.

My other plans for the week include cleaning out my closet, beating my high score on DoodleJump, and maybe, if I get really bored, doing some homework.

Oh well. How was your weekend?

St. Patrick's Day

Old Navy t-shirt; Gap skirt; Target tights; Payless shoes.; Thrifted belt; Truche necklace.

I don't have much green in my closet, and the few things I do have, like this skirt, are kind of hard to style. I don't own much navy or pink either, and I'm not sure how flattering the shape is either. But then I remembered these bright tights I got from Target a few days back and I just went with it.

Anyway, I don't have class on Fridays so in just a few short hours I'll be on spring break! My plan is to celebrate tonight by drinking irish car bombs, and then to do as little as absolutely possible for the next week.

Counting down

Banana Republic dress (thrifted); Charlotte Russe necklace and pumps; Target tights.

It's actually been warm enough to go without tights lately, but my cat is a total spaz and scratched all the way down my leg the other day when he was falling off of our couch. So tights it was.

This weekend I saw Red Riding Hood. Which should probably win the award for most awful movie, ever. But it was definitely worth the $8 because it was so unintentionally hilarious.

I also worked at a Relay for Life carwash this weekend. And by worked, I mean I stood on the side of the road holding signs and yelling my head off at the cars driving by. I got a lot of dirty looks and even more creepy stares, but there were quite a bit of nice people who stopped to get their cars washed.

Other than that, I was a lazy bum for the rest of the weekend. Only one more week until Spring Break though! I'm seriously counting down the hours.

Is it just me or are boot-cut jeans not the most flattering to take pictures of? Actually, don't answer that.

Anyway, this is the only thing with polka-dots I own. I actually kind of forgot I even had it until now. So thanks a bunch to Liz and Linda for reminding me how cute this shirt is!

A post-birthday post.

Holy moly where did my weekend go? Where did my Monday go too, while we're looking for things.

This outfit is from my birthday (Thursday). I've been having some great luck thrifting lately, and this dress is a recent thing I picked up. It's probably too short to wear without tights, but I'm also thinking it'll work tucked into a pencil skirt? (Doesn't everything though?)

Also, thank you all so much for the birthday wishes! You're the best. Seriously.

I went home to see my family this weekend, which is always nice and relaxing. I got some awesome shoes that I'll debut later on, some of these babies to hang in my apartment, and 4 lbs of Red Vines, among other things.

And just to clarify, Red Vines > Twizzlers. Always.

Wednesday, March 2

A pre-birthday post.

Express t-shirt; American Eagle jeans; Target shoes; Thrifted scarf.

It's a one picture kind of day. You guys know how that is.

I also feel like I've worn this outfit before. It's just that white v-neck + square scarf is so easy. And I've accumulated so many scarves and this is the only way I know how to wear them. (Any other suggestions?)

In other news, tomorrow is my birthday! Being about to graduate with a master's degree makes me feel really old sometimes, but I'm actually only turning 22.

If you really can't help yourself, I accept gifts in the form of cupcakes and cash =]
