Target button-down and heels; Thrifted skirt; American Eagle necklace.
This may look like a well-thought out outfit, but that's just the (fake) pearls playing tricks on you. In truth, I grabbed my trusty chambray shirt and paired it with the first skirt* I saw in my closet. Add some neutral shoes, the aforementioned necklace, a high bun, and I was out the door in less than 30 minutes.
Not bad, right? Especially for someone whose brain is pretty fried these days...
*Anyway, I also have a quick question. I've been liking longer skirts lately but I'm debating hemming this skirt to right above my knees, what do you think?
It's so funny that you mention how the pearls are tricky, because I threw on jeans and a shirt with some fake pearls and got compliments all day last week... at any rate, it works. (: I've personally been experimenting with skirts that are longer than the knee lately, so I wouldn't hem it, but you gotta do what you like.
ReplyDeleteThose fake pears are really tricksy! They fooled me :) Kidding! you look lovely! I love the mixture of styles/textures here because it really looks like you've planned your outfit all out!
ReplyDeletethat AE necklace is great :)
ReplyDeleteand yes to hemming skirts above the knees...some I like longer but a little skin is great too
ReplyDeleteI like the skirt, but I think it would look cute if it was above the knee.
ReplyDeleteI'm wearing a very similar outfit today! I like my skirts just above my knees, too!
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty! And I'm liking longer lengths too, but I think this one would look great hemmed just a tiny bit :)
ReplyDeleteI agree that if you hem the skirt a few inches it would add a fresh new look to the skirt.
ReplyDeleteYou look so glamorous--retro silhouette with modern touches! I love this look Lydia! And that's a tough call on the skirt--it looks great as is, but it may be more versatile if you hem it.
ReplyDeleteNot bad at all! In fact I love the high bun especially. Now to hem or not hem, hmmmm. ;) I think it's a very flattering and unique length actually but I could see it working a tad shorter too. I take pride in being no help whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteSo adorable! The skirt is lovely.
ReplyDeletei say hem it! also i love your chambray shirt. i've been searching for the perfect one and haven't seen it yet. maybe it's good that i haven't yet...otherwise it would be all i wear and i would stop blogging...again.
ReplyDeleteYou look great and that skirt is to die for! Did you have to alter it at all or did it just fit you perfectly right off the bat?! You could totally hem it if you want, but it might be fun to have one longer skirt if all of your skirts are shorter....
ReplyDeleteI really like your necklace! And I like the length of this skirt! I usually like shorter skirts but that's cause i'm short, but you have the body shape to pull off this length! :D

The length of that skirt looks great on you. Such a cute outfit...that necklace is perfect.
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is totally fabulous and quite grown-up. I agree, it would be cute either length. Maybe you could just pull it up and paper-bag waist it with a belt. Win, win!
ReplyDelete...I am a professional compromiser. :o)
Love this look! Personally I prefer skirt lengths under the knee, not above. You look really pretty and chic.
ReplyDeletethis outfit is SO j crew, but at a fraction of the price, i'm sure. nice work!
ReplyDeleteI love the necklace underneath the collar.. I will definitely have to try this some time. Thanks for the advice!
