Fried pickles, and newborn giraffes

I just accidentally deleted a post entirely about fried pickles....probably a good thing now that I think about it. Long story short, they're awesome.

Anyway, on to the outfit...for some reason this top reminds me of when they sing beauty school dropout in Grease. Also, these are probably my new favorite shoes but I sort of resemble a newborn giraffe when walking in them. I've never really had trouble with heels before, but somehow these make my center of gravity off...any tips? They're super comfy otherwise, but I just feel like I have to concentrate on not falling way more than usual, which is not so fun.

  3. I have a pair of shoes like that! I feel like I'm stilt-walking every time I wear them. Bambi-on-the-ice moments abound!

  4. I like the shoes.  My only tip is to keep practicing!

  5. I have to agree with Rebecca - Practice walking in the shoes. Try around the house a little each day. Before long you'll be strutting in them without any problem.  - Katy PS after seeing all these bloggers doing the 30 for 30 again, I'm bummed I didn't attempt it this summer. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

  6. Those shoes ARE great! Practice does make perfect when it comes to heels... you'll be dancing in them in no time.
And, fried pickles? Perhaps one of the most wonderfully delicious and saltily fabulous foods EVER.

  7. Fried pickles are awesome. I agree with everyone on walking with your shoes on at home. Best way to master walking in them.

  8. I find that you admitting to having deleted a whole post about fried pickles to be very endearing. Love your top and accessories (esp. the bag--so awesome!) I'm nuts over all shades of hot pink and coral--your shirt is no exception. Isn't it interesting how certain shoes (and often the ones you least expect) seem to be difficult to walk it? I have a pair of boots with kitten heels on them that sometimes trip me up, but have no problems walking in 3 inch stilettos! Good luck with the sandals... they are def. cute.

  9. I love this outfit!  So cute!  No idea about the shoes.  Maybe a cocktail or two will even it out. :)

  11. Your story's sad to tell, a teenage ne'r do well... Thanks Lydia I'm going to have that song in my head all night now! Your wedges are cute, but I'm sorry they're not the most comfortable. Are your feet slipping in them? Maybe try some inserts or foot pads maybe?

  13. Hey, Lydia! Thanks so much for the nice comment on my blog. I have no advice on how to walk in high heels (I'm in Keds most days). When I do tempt fate and wear heels, I tend to just stand in one place and look pretty. Now you got me thinking about pickles....mmmmm....

  17. Haha thanks for the comment, I might stick to the goofy pics from now on.. way more fun!

Your wedges are great, I couldn't give you any walking tips though.. one reason I started a blog was to force myself to learn to walk in heels.. that way I can buy more!

  18. I need to find some shorts that are that perfect length! They're lovely! I've also been seeing quite the collection of wedges online that I like (this is a miracle because I've never liked wedges). Cute look. (:
