Also see: how to wear the same thing every day and have it be socially acceptable.
Basically, when I'm home all day by myself studying, the last thing I really want to think about is getting dressed, so I almost always grab a white v-neck and a pair of shorts. But every once in a while I venture out to Walmart, or Chili's, or some other fine establishment in town where I want to look a little more put together. Enter: accessories. And no one knows the difference.
20/22 Old Navy shorts; Thrifted scarf; Target flats.
21/22 Old Navy shorts (that I still need to hem); Aeropostale scarf; Target flats.
22/22 Old Navy shorts; Thrifted belt and shoes; Necklace borrowed from Mom.
Indeed, accessories make the difference. I barely use accessories myself, and that's something I regret, because the can change an outfit completely, as you've just shown.

wonderful outfits! so easy to put together which i like!
ReplyDeleteLove them all!! I really love the last pair of shorts, I need me some of those!!
ReplyDeleteVery cute styling here! I tend to do the same thing as you, when I don't want to think about getting dressed I pull the exact same things out of my closet. I especially love the last outfit you put together :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE all three of these outfits. You look so adorable. It's amazing how a scarf can take a basic outfit and really step it up. And I have the same scarf as in outfit #2!

I love your comfy outfits!! I didnt include either of these types of pieces in my 30 but its definitely what I wear on weekends when I take a break from wearing work clothes.
ReplyDeleteI like the first outfit a lot. And the others. But mostly the first.
ReplyDeletewoohoo! accessories really do make all the difference, especially summer scarves!! LOVE.
ReplyDeleteB-E-A-Utiful. I love your three ways to wear posts. They're so fun!
ReplyDeleteThis is so true what you said about throwing on shorts and a tee. I like your take on the accessories! I am so summer-style challenged. Maybe it has something to do with the blizzard this past February.

Your "three ways to wear" posts are awesome! You have good ideas about how to get more mileage out of your wardrobe (note to self: get more scarves). I know a few bloggers who stopped their 30 for 30s early too. I got really burned out at the end.

haha, I try to remix as much as possible too. It's wardrobe art and creativity! I love your Old Navy shorts! x
ReplyDeleteScarves the outfit make! I think my favourite look is the last one- you rock a pair of shorts!
ReplyDeleteI've been living in a t-shirt or tank plus shorts or a skirt lately, so I hear you on accessories! I love how because of accessories, your 3 looks are totally different!
ReplyDeleteBack to basics on this one! I love #3.
ReplyDeletehaha as I read this I am wearing a v-neck white tshirt, they're just too good! The accessories really make you look put together.

Nothing like a few bold accessories to take an outfit and create a look!
ReplyDeleteThis? This is what I want to live in all the time. Lovely! I'm a scarf-a-holic and deeply believe in their potential to make any standard outfit new and fantastic at any moment.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute outfits! Love your fingernails too!
ReplyDeleteJulie Del @ J.Bird

I don't think you HAVE to hem #2's shorts (unless I guess they'd unravel to nothing unless you do) I think the rough edges look cool. But I absolutely would steal the shorts in #3 from you in a heartbeat. I have no scruples when it comes to tailored shorts. Hee hee!
ReplyDeleteJenn
This is oh-so-clever combo that I may just steal for inspiration on days when I choose to work from home!
ReplyDeleteThe third one is my favorite.
