The Number 23

The Number 23
Maurices cardigan; Old Navy tee; Aeropostale jeans; Wet Seal boots; Scarf borrowed from my brother

It turns out I've been only working with 29 items this whole time (shows how much I pay attention). I got rid of two pairs of oxfords early on and apparently never replaced one of them, so I'm going to make this t-shirt my 30th item for the next week or so. It'll be nice to have another long-sleeved tee for layering since it's been getting cold.

The Number 23

I went shopping with my family on Black Friday and I gotta say, I'm definitely glad to not be working retail anymore. I was very proud of myself for not buying anything, although I really think I would have bought these in a second if they were in my size:

The Number 23

They were at Goodwill, brand new for $5. I drooled over them for a good 15 minutes before giving up on trying to make an 8.5 work for my size 7 feet. So sad.

It's probably all for the best though, I have no idea what I would have worn them with anyway. I think this challenge is already making me think more carefully about what I do buy and how things will go with the stuff already in my closet.

  3. Ooh--I like how the sleeve poking out from under the cardigan makes it look kind of like a blazer. And those shoes are really pretty! (Props to you--I didn't make it out of Black Friday unscathed.)

  4. I agree that the blue is gorgeous. A great color for you! Those shoes are awesome, even if they wouldn't match everything.

  5. I found the cutest pair of oxford shoes at Goodwill for $5. They were real leather too! I tried my hardest to fit my foot in but I never could. It was super sad so I feel your pain!

I really love this outfit, especially the blue cardigan!

  7. I am exactly the same, both with counting and with buying, I have stopped thinking about what I need and have started thinking about what I can work with. Though I do recognise a few things my wardrobe could do with the list is growing smaller because I've created 17 individual outfits (18 if you include the one I forgot to post) and am still going strong. I feel like I've given my clothes a new lease of life.

Well done for not shopping though, I may have slightly cheated and bought a dress but I...have no excuse other than it was gorgeous and really cheap.

  8. Hey awesome, a bonus item!! That always happens to me--I find shoes I love but not in my size. But at least you stuck to your "no shopping" guns. I love that blue sweater, especially with that scarf!

  9. That scarf looks great with the plain tee and that great colored cardigan.
I'm glad you realized you got to add one more item to the challenge. That's an unexpected bonus late in the game.
