27 Dresses
Maurices shirt; Target skirt and heels; JC Penney tights
Okay, so maybe these shoes aren't in my 30 items. But instead of cheating, I'm going to refer to this as 'gently easing my way back into the rest of my wardrobe'. Who knows what will happen when I have access to my entire closet, and so I believe that doing it slowly will be much safer. It's about safety people.
Actually, I was going to wear my purpley-pink shoes with this but it didn't quite go together right with the tights and I was worried that I would look either color blind, or like I dressed in the dark. Plus I wore this to a scholarship breakfast where I'd be around a lot of accountants, and most accountants can only handle so much color at a time. Again, I'm only thinking about safety.
And if this doesn't make much sense it's because this time of year I'm only able to function because of my frequent starbucks visits, and the motivation that a week from now my semester will be over.

Look at you in such serious clothes! I really like this fun but professional outfit, and I promise I won't tell anybody about the not-in-your-30 shoes :)
ReplyDeleteI just have to tell you that since finding you via the 30 for 30, you have seriously become one of my favorite style bloggers. I LOVE everything you wear, and how completely effortless you always look. I think if I were your size, and we lived next door, I would completely raid your closet (umm... in a totally not creepy friend way, of course).
ReplyDeleteHere's to another starbucks visit for both of us in the morning!
Hey, rules are meant to be broken! The safety reasoning sounds totally legitimate to me :)
ReplyDeleteBut look at you all fancy. You look really pretty!
I really, really love this look. And I definitely think that professionalism wins out over 30 for 30 every time. Employment is good.
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit. Fun, cute and still professional looking. Yay for having one more week of school.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute!! The shoes are great, and I love the color of those tights! Dressing for other people's safety is always a good idea! ;)
ReplyDeleteThis totally cracked me up...don't want to shock the accountants, now do we???
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite outfits of yours - you look beautiful!
I really like this combination. It's not something that most people would automatically combine, but it works so well. And shh... I won't tell about your shoes being a 30 for 30 add-on. - Katy
ReplyDeleteSafety first ALWAYS. I appreciate your caution and your adorable shoes. They are so perfect with your outfit - in or out of the 30!
ReplyDeleteYou're too funny.
Leaving the House in THIS?!?!
I am a very rebellious accountant. I wear lots of color. Some people can't even believe I am an accountant. :)
ReplyDeletehaha i love how you talk about accountants! anyway, AWESOME tights. i'm glad you can wear them now that the weather is cold... some people can wear tights in warm weather, but no! i cannot. so any degree of coldness is welcome in my life (:
ReplyDeleteWow! You look totally smashing! Lovely...

ReplyDeleteI totally love how you justified the shoes--rules are meant to be broken anyway, right? And I love the tights with this outfit, they're the perfect pop of color!

ReplyDeleteAaaa! I literally squealed a little when I saw this outfit, I love it so much :) Each piece is just fantastic on its own but make an incredibly flattering outfit together!!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't worry, sometimes situations call on us to break the rules. The outfit looks amazing, we can totally forgive you.
